Goodbye ballerina

N. had to make a choice.

We don't want to overschedule her, or be those parents running around from class to class and never giving anyone a chance to just be, just relax as a family. Still, I also want to give her a chance to try out the things she's interested in. Then again, how much can you trust the request of a toddler to be more than a passing phase? I listen to what she says, and I believe she knows what she wants. But when you have to prioritize...

The point is she asked to go to ballet *and* gymnastics, and we agreed on a trial basis. We tried it out, but the schedule was getting to be too much for me and her during the week. I asked her to choose one.

She chose gymnastics. So it's goodbye, ballerina.

Fall goodness

I love Fall.

Loooooooooove it.

The colors, the smells, the cooling off after a hot and muggy summer, what's not to love? And the tastes! Pumpkin pie, apple pie, butternut squash baked with brown sugar and cinnamon... Oh my.

And all the anticipation building up to the holiday season with Thanksgiving just around the corner and then Christmas/the winter solstice/Chanukah. I get giddy just thinking about all the fun we'll have.

So yeah, Autumn makes me happy.

What do you know, it's already started. We went apple picking a couple of weeks ago, and I'd like to share with you some of the results. Oh, and that jam you see there? It's caramel apple jam and it's amazing. I highly recommend it.

What does Fall feel like for you?

Back to school

School's back in session. Summers do fly by, don't they?

That means I've been running around like a chicken with the head cut off for the past couple of weeks. Anytime now I'll fall over.

Just kidding, I've got some fight in me yet. But things are crazy for sure.

But, I did manage to make a couple of these:

Pencil cases!

N. has already declared that the pink one is hers (of course), but I put the white and blue one up for sale on Etsy. I think if it was up to her, she's confiscate everything I make...

How's your end of summer?
