Safari }{ Illustration Fridays

Giraffes to me represent majestic and elegant beauty. Their grace reminds me of ballet dancers. 

So when the prompt for this week's Illustration Friday turned out to be "safari" giraffes were the first thing on my mind. 

I already had a few drawings of giraffes laying around:

sharpie and color pencils 

But I did a new one of course.

Markers and watercolor
And this one has nothing to do with giraffes, or safaris really, except maybe that he's an animal?

Still, I like my little guy up there. He's stuck.

    I love all your sketches and your drawings! I wish I could draw, period. Both my dad and my mom are artists, but I definitely didn't get that gene! :)

    These are so wonderful and I LOVE the last one, too!!
    I have never drawn a giraffe--it doesn't look easy. Your first one has so much warmth and love.

    Your comments about the last little fella made me giggle out loud! I like your detail on the first giraffes, the shape of their legs, the spots on their bodies, the little "horns" with tufts of hair...and the colors in the water color...WOW!

    Oh, I love your Mama and Baby Giraffe! I can tell the safari animal is a giraffe and I like the landscape. I can identify with Mr. Stuck! Ha.

    I adore your stuck seal! We saw seals on the beach while on the island for vacation. They are so cute and playful -just like your sketch :)
