Kitchen fun

N. and I love to bake together.

Muffins, cakes, cupcakes, anything sweet and fun.

She helps me with the eggs, mixing, and decorating (her favorite part).

Yes, it gets messy, but the memories we make around the kitchen table are so worth it.

Do you have special "grown up" activities that you do with little ones?

  1. I don't have any little ones yet but have loads of ideas of making-and-doing activities for when I do!

I just wanted to say how much I love your photos on your blog - they are so vibrant and happy - do you alter them a lot after you've taken them or is your world just a bright happy place to be?!

  3. Oh the mess! I allow my daughter to help in the kitchen when I bake cupcakes because she loves them so much, but as a neat freak it's so hard on me! But it's all about making memories just like you said and I just have to suck it up :)

  5. Yum. I can't wait till Malley is old enough to do things like that with me, instead of fussing when I'm occupied in the kitchen!

  6. have you tried putting everything she is working with on a big baking sheet, makes clean up much easier! Those darn sprinkles get everywhere :o)

Hope you make it over someday for hanami, let me know if you do!

  8. Once in a while, I will let them "help" when I bake. :) Yes, it's messy, but it's such a lot of fun for them and they feel so proud. :)

  9. It always puts a smile on my face when kids want to help parents out. They like being included and it shows in their helpfulness. Great K post!
